Benefits of Active Democracy in the developing world
Millions and millions and millions of revenue is looted via corruption by the politicians themselves
not in one aspect ... but in many aspects and in many fields.
The poorest segment
It is a developing world with millions of poor people trying to make ends meet. But instead of the tax money reaching out the poor and taking care of their needs, they are channeled into foreign bank accounts of our dear politicians.
Thereby making the struggle of the poor even more slow and laborious. Most of the people who can move ahead in life are the middle class and the upper class. The lower classes and the poor ... they cant even afford to move ahead.
For example ... in India ... if 500 million people are above the poverty line ... then we also have 500 million people below the poverty line. "500 million" people need help ... if we have a system as pathetic as we have today ... then when do you think change is going to come into their lives?
This small progress that we have seen today ... in software and pharma ... it is because of the middle class and upper class ... who could afford the education and had the facilities to move on and compete. What about these 500 million people who don’t even have access to proper education?
You think India excelled because the government had something to do with it? The govt. created a miraculous program because of which all Indians became super good in software? It was a 100% people's effort. The people became good ... because they worked at it ... because they had the skill sets.
It took one generation for the middle class to establish themselves in the software field. How many generations does the poor segment have to wait? For how long will they have to wait for an "honest" leader to come in their lives and take care of their needs?
The transparency, the openness, the efficiency and direction of projects and funds that can be done via Active Democracy will be simply exemplary in changing the lives of this segment of our society
which is the weakest of all, which needs the most help. The segment which is taken for a ride most easily ... which doesn’t know a thing ... about rules or policies or how govt. works.
Middle and Upper Classes
There are huge, huge amounts of funds that are sanctioned every year / term for many projects in the main cities. All of them go behind doors, uncontrolled and the people don’t know what was the purpose and to what scale the benefit was to be achieved.
It helps to a large scale in the monitoring and execution of city projects improving the life
and meeting the immediate needs of any section of the society. This is democracy in the true sense ... the lives and the resources of the people being actually used for the benefit of the people.
Problem
In the developing world ... you get what you can buy ... you are what you can do ... you are on your own. In the developed world ... you have social security ... if you don’t have a job, the govt. will pay you. You have something like health insurance. The govt. is a part of your life ... they have got your back ... it might be related to jobs or health.
In the developing world ... you are on your own. You loose your job ... bad luck ... you fall ill ... bad luck. The amenities that are provided are very limited compared to the actual need. And this can change ... if we change the system. It is not going to happen by changing one leader or two leaders or three leaders. We need to change the system!
System performing to its best capacity
We can move ahead with a beautiful, rigorous, robust and a 100% performing system to its best capacity ... that will move ahead in a scale that has never been done before ... and that will keep us continuously moving ahead in that pace ... if we can change the system.
